Museums

Museums exist in many different ways... who knows us, understands why we first looked at the following museums.

Chocolate Museum

The Chocolate-Museum is a MUST for all of us who love to eat :-)

This museum is situated in Castillones, only 2 villages away from us, and opened its doors in Spring 2018. The tour is not very long, but very interesting and the explanations are offered in French and English. In the adjoining boutique you will find a large number of different chocolates, also without sugar. A visit is a good idea if the weather is not good - except on Sundays and Mondays, when the museum is closed.

Museum Foie gras

The muesum "foie gras" (duck liver) is also worth a visit.  Adjacent to the shop is the very impressively designed museum. The entrance fee is 5 Euro, but we think they are justified. During the summer months (from the beginning of June to the beginning of September) you should visit the museum on Fridays, and experience the marché paysans - a country market - at which, just like at the night or gourmet markets, you can enjoy culinary delights.

Plum Museum

Lot et Garonne is the plum region. The "pruneaux d'agen" variety bred here has even been given the name of our capital, Agen.

Hazelnut Museum

Although Cancon is the capital of hazelnuts, the hazelnut museum is not here.

The museum offers guided visits as well as tours of the hazelnut plantations.

Musée Agricole & Automobile

The "musée Agricole & Automobile" is very worth seeing for all technically interested people among us. It is located in our neighbouring department Lot - the one hour journey can be diversified by visiting the beautiful village "Monpazier".
